Claims of ESP • The following categories fall under paranormal phenomena • Astrological predictions • Psychic healing • Communication with the dead • Out of body experiences • The three most testable one are • Telepathy: mind to mind communication • Clairvoyance: perceive events • Precognition: perceiving future events

  4. Psychokinesis • Closely linked to the previous is “mind over matter” claims. • Moving things with your mind • The movie Carrie being a prime example • A teenage girls who has the ability to move things with her mind (Fiction)

Premonitions or Pretensions • Is it a reality? • Most leading psychics accuracy in predicting events are skimpy • The fact that most of them missed big events like 9/11 & Oklahoma City bombing are telling • A 1982 analysis of psychics who help the police department showed that there help was not more accurate than guesses made by others • The fact that so many predictions are made & the occasional correct guess happens to take place can be interpreted & retrofitted to match events that provide a perceptual set for interpreting the information given.
