  4. Expectations: Follow Directions the first time they are given. Come to class with the necessary school supplies. Keep your hands, feet, and mouth to yourself. Candy, Gum, other food items, toys, and drinks should not be brought to class. Raise your hand for permission to talk or leave your seat. Classroom Procedures

  5. Each student will keep a Social Studies Journal in a large spiral notebook supplied by the student with required assignments included. This will be graded assignment. The Journal will have bellringers(dated), any essay assignment, and student notes taken form lessons given by the teacher. Also, students may write any questions or comments concerning Social Studies in their journal for the teacher to read. Classroom procedures

  6. After you arrive in class, you will work on the bellringer for the day, to be written in your Journal which will be written on the overhead. There will be no talking during this time. You must raise your hand to receive permission to talk or get out of your seat. You may also work on any required Journal entry at this time. Classroom procedures

  7. All students start with a grade of 100 for class participation (20 points per day). In my grade book this will be called PD (participation/discussion). You will be expected to participate in all activities and this grade will reflect your level of participation. Of course, if you are disruptive, this will be noted and your weekly grade will include this fact. You will be warned only once for any of the violations above, then consequences will start. Before I contact your parents, you may have the option to write one of my behavior lessons due by the next class period. Further behavior problems after writing this lesson, will force me to call your parents and send notification home of your actions, which must be signed and returned. Classroom Procedures

  8. For good behavior and class participation, you can receive Mr. Cook’s cookies, which can be redeemed at the time of a test or when homework is handed in. Each cookie is worth 5 pts on a test. Classroom procedures
