Galileo Galilei • Born 1564, Died 1642 • Galileo pionereered the “scientific method” • He perfected the refracting telescopes, and did much research on the planets and their moons • Originally thought the sun and planets revolved around the earth, Before being exposed to the Heliocentric Model

  4. Nicolaus Copernicus • Born February 19th, 1473 • Kool name • Most famously known for postulating the theory of the heliocentric model (sun-centered universe). • Never professional astronomer • Died May 24th, 1543
