The Great Wall of China • The Great Wall stretches from Shanhaiguan in the east, to Lop Nur in the west • It was originally built to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire against intrusions by various nomadic groups • It stretches around 5,500 miles long • They have preserved and extensively renovated the Great Wall many times because it is such a main tourist attraction

  3. The Confucius Mansion • This was where the Kong family lived • The descendants of Confucius had lived in this house too • It is located in the city of Qufu, China • The first mansion was built in 1038 during the Song dynasty

  4. Heaven Lake • It is a crater lake on the border of China and North Korea • From mid-October to mid-June, it is typically covered with ice. • Heaven Lake was created by a major eruption in 969 AD

  5. The Yellow Mountain • It is a mountain range in Eastern China in the Anhui Providence • The area is well-known for its scenery, sunsets, view of clouds, and perfect granite peaks • This mountain is a frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings and literature
