  3. PURPOSE The IACS Bible, Academics & Fine Arts Competition has been organized to provide a spiritual and academic challenge toward excellence . . . This competition will allow Christian young people to develop disciplined skills in various areas of proficiency so that they might better serve the Lord throughout their lives.

  4. ELIGIBILITY Middle School level is 5th-8th grades.* Senior High level is 9th-12th grades. *Students in grades 7 and 8 may “move up” to compete in the Senior High group categories of youth choir, band/orchestra, handbell/handchime choir, and handbell/handchime ensemble. FABA is required for students in grades 7-12.

  5. STUDENT LIMITATIONS Competition is divided into 5 areas (Bible, Music, Speech, Art, and Academics). In individual competition a student may enter a maximum of 3 individual categories with no more than 2 in a single area in Bible, Music, and Speech. In addition, a student may enter 1 or 2 categories in Art and as many areas as desired in Academics, with the exception of Poetry/Essay Writing and Spelling Bee. In addition, a student may enter any number of group categories.

  6. SCHOOL LIMITATIONS Middle School CCS may only enter 2 individuals per category in Bible, Art, and certain instrumental soloist categories with the exception of the academic testing categories where there are no limits (with the exception of Poetry/Essay Writing and Spelling Bee). CCS may enter only 1 group per category except for the following categories where 2 groups may be entered: small/large instrumental/vocal ensembles.

  7. SCHOOL LIMITATIONS High School CCS may enter only 1 individual or group per category with the exception of the academic testing categories where there are no limits (with the exception of Poetry/Essay Writing and Spelling Bee where only 1 contestant is allowed from each school).

  9. FABA SIGN UP INSTRUCTIONS • Please circle each event in which you have a particular interest in competing. • AFTER you have circled an event, please put a star beside that event if you placed in that event in the past. • IF you circle a group event, please indicate the other potential members of your group. 4. Please indicate your music teachers’ names and what they teach you. 5. If you have questions, for Miss Lewis, please write those at the very top of this form.
