University of Illinois Medical Center • Tertiary care, academic, state hospital, 440 beds • Outpatient Care Center • Approximately 675 residents, 750 attending physicians • Pharmacies • Hospital – central pharmacy (24/7), 3 satellites • Five outpatient pharmacies • Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, Public Health, Allied Health

  3. The College of Pharmacy main entrance The College is a five story building located on the same block as the University Hospital, University Administration building (where the IRB is located) and a CTA Blue line train stop

  4. Current PGY1 Residents This picture, of the PGY1 Class of 2010, is taken at the UIC College of Pharmacy Dorothy Bradley Atkins Medicinal Garden

  5. The Resident’s Office The main Resident’s office is located in the basement of the College of Pharmacy. The Hospital is immediately connected to this area by a tunnel corridor. The Residency Director’s office is just out the view to the right. PGY2 residents and the Fellows have their office spaces in the suites associated with their specialty area.

  8. Entrance to Pharmacy On-call Room Located on the 8th (top) floor of the Hospital, this room is dedicated to the pharmacy residency on-call program.

  9. Interior of the Pharmacy Resident’s On-call Room The room has bunk bed, a folding cot, hospital networked computer and printer, microwave, small refrigerator and an attached bathroom

  10. Resident Report Cases seen by residents on call, journal clubs, orientation lectures, inservices and CE programs are among the activities that comprise resident report. Mandatory for PGY1 residents. Held daily in Hospital Pharmacy Conference room

  11. Drug Information Center The DIC is located in the basement of the College of Pharmacy in a newly renovated master office suite. It is protected by key card access at all hours. Residents have full access 24/7 to the DIC

  13. Overhead Walkway from Hospital to Outpatient Care Center (OCC) Hospital on the right and the OCC (Outpatient Care Center) is on the left. The College of Pharmacy is immediately behind , but obscured by, the hospital on the right
