Universal Themes • In the Scope & Sequence for Differentiation, each grade level has a specific Universal Theme • Students should be taught the big ideas or generalizations related to each Universal Theme • Teachers help students make connections between the Universal Theme and their grade level curriculum • Students begin to deepen their thinking and make their own connections to the Universal Theme
