Things to Remember . . . (1) • The Individual Presentations are due by Sat, Oct 15thso you have almost a month and a half to complete them • Each presentation will be about 6-8 minutes in length! Prepare it as if presenting to a class • You should have a PowerPoint or Prezi covering your topic • Please post your presentations in the IP Drop Box in the Individual Presentations folder on Angel
Things to Remember . . . (2) • A copy of the grading sheet is posted under Course Content for you to review. Pay particular attention to those items with “*” next to them! There is also a PPT grading rubric for you to use in preparing your PPT • The book is a good source but you’ll need to use three or four sources • A good idea is to note the sources you used on a slide at the end of your presentation • Remember the 5 C’s—Clear, Complete, Concise, Correct and Coherent!
Things to Remember . . . (3) • The topics you’ll be covering comes mostly from materials we’ll cover later in Human Relations so you’re getting ahead! • You have to motivate us to keep the interest of your imaginary audience! Keep it interesting! But don’t make it tacky! • Remember that using examples always helps us “get it. . . . . “ Think about your examples! • Questions about these presentations may be on the next exam!!
Things to Remember . . . (4) • You will have to do some basic research into your topic • Pick 3-4 good sources of information on your topic and put them in a bibliography at the end • Please don’t put this off until the last minute. If you do, it usually shows! • Explain your topic to me like I’m a college student who want to know more about your subject!

(1) • Tiffany Arteaga—What are attitudes and why are they SO important? • Puja Bhakta—Please explain the relationship between values, attitudes, and behaviors • Thomas Bond—What is Emotional Intelligence? • Alischia Boyd—How are attitudes important in our dealing with others? • Angeles Cervantes—How and when are our attitudes formed? • Ofelia Cisneros—Why don’t you tell us as many reasons as you can for maintaining a professional presence?

(2) • Bobby Davis—What attitudes are valued by business firms and other organizations? • Ana De Oliveira—Why do firms value those important attitudes? • Toni Draper—What are ways that you can change your attitude? • Paulette Fuller—How can you help change the attitudes of others? • Jeanette Gomez—What do firms do to change and improve your attitude?

(3) • Michael Gordon—Why and how do you “dress for success?” • Cathy Hargrove—Why and how do you use professional etiquette? • Brian Izquierdo—Please give us examples of workplace incivility and how to avoid them • Chloe Jackson—Please describe for us all the components of a professional presence • Chris Jackson—Why don’t you tell us the advantages of firms today being diverse?

(4) • Jonathan Jennings—Please tell us the primary and secondary dimensions of diversity • Britney Lemelle—Please use examples to tell us about prejudice and discrimination • Jazmyne Mathes—Pick a protected category of minorities and tell us how they are discriminated against. What does discrimination look like? • Deborah Mcclanahan—What can we do to better accept others? • Laura Russell—What is the Conflict Resolution Process?
