  3. What type of teams? • Publishing • Newspaper • Yearbook • Special projects • CD ROM • Tech teams • Tech support • short term publishing jobs PAPT 97 11 20

  5. Structures • Students choose their tasks • Students are freed from class time • Students must volunteer beyond this time in lieu of homework • Students are supervised by staff • Students are evaluated PAPT 97 11 20

Practicalities • Secondary V students all volunteer one period a cycle • Students may be freed from other classes where they are strong (i.e. Reading periods in English) • Practical projects are assigned in Computer Science: Sec. IV and V • Secondary III, IV students “work” in lieu of PSD and Career Choice • Secondary II students use their IT and Science time PAPT 97 11 20

  8. Publishing groups • Students “grow” into the positions • Training is carried out during the summer and by peer to peer during the year • Organisational and co-operative skills are essential PAPT 97 11 20

  10. Tech team tasks • Configure and setup up computers and software • Explore new tools and teach other students or teachers • Develop materials requested by the school • Do the daily maintenance required in the lab • Maintain and develop the school web site • Assist the CEMIS PAPT 97 11 20
