What is a web crawler, what does it do? • Web crawlers are programs which the search the internet in a methodical manner. They constantly move site-to-site (thus the name crawler) to provide the most up-to-date search results possible. • When a web crawler has found a webpage created or changed, it will index the page and address to the owner’s server, to make the user’s search happen much faster.
