1. Peter Turner Director of USA Elite Fastpitch Congratulations to Coach Turner on a fruitful year, and his recent vote into the Amateur Softball Association’s National Softball Hall of Fame. The Induction Ceremony will be held November 07 in Louisville, Kentucky. Earlier in September 06, Coach Turner was hired as Head Coach of the San Jose State Spartan woman’s Softball team. For the past three years Coach Turner had a very successful stint as head coach of the Delta College women’s softball program were he compiled a 99-30 (.767) record. This comes after a culmination of lifetime softball achievements, such as coaching the Men’s National team for the last six years, during that time he coached his team to two podium finishes at international events. Before starting his coaching career Coach Turner was a former baseball and football standout at Franklin High and Delta College, a former baseball player at University of the Pacific, a 10-time ASA All-America, and played in five U.S. Olympic Festivals. He was part of the 1995 silver medal team at the Pan-Am Games and he has been inducted into the Stockton Athletic Hall of Fame and the Stockton Softball Hall of Fame. More importantly, the USA Elite Softball Organization is very thankful to be under the guidance of Coach Turner. His knowledge of the game is being past on to his Elite coaching staff with the help of instructor and Coach Thad Brown. This combination insures that our Elite organization is going in the right direction to instruct the Elite coaching staff to teach the fundamentals of the game at the highest level; in addition the players learn positive life lessons threw this great game of softball.
