T&D input needed from the Perf Committee • Frame transmission time • The amount of time elapsed between the time the first bit of a frame is submitted to a transmission medium and the time the last bit is submitted to that medium • Global Fairness • Not needed - recommend removing it • Local Fairness • Not needed - recommend removing it Performance Committee IEEE 802.17 - Interim Meeting - San Jose

T&D input needed from the Perf Committee • MAC end-to-end delay • The amount of time elapsed between the first bit of a frame submitted from the MAC client to the MAC layer at the source station and the first bit of the frame received by the MAC client at the destination station • Medium access delay • The amount of time elapsed between the first bit of a frame submitted from the MAC client to the MAC layer and the first bit of that frame submitted to the transmission medium • Packetization delay • No suggestions from perf committee - recommend removing it Performance Committee IEEE 802.17 - Interim Meeting - San Jose

T&D input needed from the Perf Committee ... • Passthru delay • The amount of time elapsed between the first bit of a passthru frame received by a station from the transmission medium and the first bit of that frame submitted to the transmission medium • Passthru delay buffer • No suggestions from perf committee - recommend removing it • Propagation delay • Recommend getting the formal definition from the IEEE dictionary or other previous standards. • If not: The amount of time it takes a bit to move between two reference points on the same link of the transmission medium.
