  5. NUTRITION • Fruits Apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, cantaloupe • Vegetables Carrots, corn, tomato, squash potatoes, lettuce • Grains Bread, brown rice, tortilla, oatmeal, pasta • Protein Fish, peanut butter, tuna, beans, steak, eggs, nuts • Dairy Milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, tofu

What is plaque? • Soft, sticky film that builds up on your teeth • Bacteria like to live here • Bacteria will build on each other if not removed regularly • Will irritate your gums if it’s not removed and turn them red • Will harden and turn into tartar (calculus) if not removed • Only hygienists can remove tartar with their special instruments
