  4. Who are the members of OOIDA?

  5. OOIDA Members: Small business truckers that typically own, maintain and drive their own commercial motor vehicle Have a vested interest in safety and on average are involved in fewer and less severe accidents than any other segment of the industry Drive an average of 110,000 miles per year and spend more than 240 night per year away from home Typically pay in excess of $10,000 per year in fed taxes and additional state taxes of more than $6000 per truck

  6. Trucking is an industry of small business In 2004, there were more than 573,000 US motor carriers. Some 90% of these are in fleets of 10 units or less. This segment continues to grow rapidly. Some 50,000 new carriers were added in 2005.
