Qualities of a Successful Student • Being Creative • Try to obtain and remember information • Having all needed supplies • Be ready to start at the start of class • Having the courage to over achieve • Being well rested • Embrace change • Follows Directions • Does their Assigned Work • Turns Assignments in on Time • Is Kind to Others • Acts in a Respectful Manner • Participates in Class • Is Open Minded • Uses Appropriate Language
Qualities of a Successful Student • Pay Attention • No talking across the room • Answer questions • Work quietly • Earn good grades • Work done on time • Have something to do quietly for when you finish your work • Be cooperative • Do not hit people • Having good posture • Stay awake • Do not throw stuff • Ask questions • Come prepared • Complete ALL assignments
Qualities of a Successful Student • Being nice to the teacher • Don’t steal form the teacher • Respect authority • Do what needs to be done • Don’t talk when you have not been called on (No blurting) • Asks great questions • Takes notes • Follows directions • Be on time to class • Not making jokes all the time • Listen when others are talking (not talking while others are talking) including the teacher • Eyes on the speaker • Facing the front of the classroom • No side conversations • Trying your best
Qualities of a Successful Student • Is a positive leader (meaning that they lead for good) • Helpful to others • Sit up straight • Has legible handwriting • Don’t cheat • Being seated when the bell rings • Use all the “R” rules • Is quietly on time • Does not rely on friends for things (supplies, answers, etc…) • Is actively listening • Sitting in the right spot • Completes homework • Studies • Is organized
Qualities of a Successful Student • Chalmers would add: • Don’t act like a victim • Admit when you have made a mistake or a bad choice • Talk don’t yell (especially when you disagree) • Approach today as if you only get to live it once. • Knows that the teacher is not out to get them • Ask politely • Don’t complain
