Aim • Efficientorganisation of CBW in the 11 pilot areas (2 workshops/ pilot area) • Workshops with targeted topics related to the pilot projects, based on the needs of the participants with emphasis on creating capable local partnerships • Transnational exchange of knowledge • Sustainability of knowledge in local communities and MED areas

  3. Outcomes • 22 Workshops for Local Action Groups (2 per region) • Materials for workshops and future use in 8 topics: Biomass, Solar Energy, Stakeholders involvement, Energy efficient buildings, Public lighting, Legislation, Funding, Awareness), in 12 languages

  4. Scope of CBW • Enhance the local capacity with regard to the pilot projects thematic areas • Provide members of public bodies knowledge in RES and energy saving technologies • Provide understanding on legislation, funding, communication and stakeholders engagement • Guidance on steps to be followed to implement efficiently sustainable energy projects

  5. Target audience • Decision makers: representatives of public bodies responsible for RES and energy efficiency and LAG members • Staff of the municip/ public organisations technical departments: responsible to advice, develop, implement,monitor a technical solution, employees responsible for energy management

  6. Potential Stakeholders to be invited to CBWs • Local/ regional authorities • Relevant municipal departments and companies • Technology/ product providers • Financial partners • Institutional stakeholders • Energy suppliers, utilities • Building companies, developers • NGOs and other civil society representatives • Building/ land owners, clusters of business sector • Local and regional energy agencies • Opinion leaders, policy makers

Workshops per partner • RECOMMENDATIONS • Workshops with technology topics to be combined with an introduction of a non technical topic (Awareness, Funding, Stakeholders involvement, Legislation) • To efficiently implement a Sustainable Energy Action Plan or project non-technical aspects are important • Policy/ decision makers should be aware of those issues

  9. Course outline • Course duration: 3-5 hours • Course contents: terminology, alternative technologies/ solutions, advantages and disadvantages, technical considerations/ barriers, economical/ environmental aspects, case studies, decision making process, resources/useful links • Training approach/ methods and tools: “classroom” presentations, analysis of examples, appropriate visual materials, discussion/discussion groups

Course outline • Training materials:presentations (ppt), training material (pdf file), list of further resources, links for case studies/good examples • Trainers profile and training: expert(s) on the specified topic, more than 3 years experience in the field • Evaluation – Reporting: Importance of participants’ feedback, evaluation formsanalysed by the national partners

Discussion topics • How the workshop contributes to the implementation of Local Energy Strategy and the specific pilot cases? • Priorities and existing local potentials; how can the practices/technical solution proposed be tailored to the priorities and the local needs? • Do the methodologies/technical solutions presented during the workshop fit the local community/citizens needs? • Obstacles, barriers hindering efficient implementation of the technical solution and how to overcome them • Funding opportunities and other financial issues • Feasibility and Sustainability of the solutions proposed

  13. Guide on CBW by TUC • Guidelines to partners on organization, implementation, evaluation and reporting of CBWs • Indicates target audience and the identified topics • Provides checklist of the tasks to be undertaken for CBWs implementation • Drafts the timeplan of the task
