An Organized Student Tips and Strategies to help you become and stay organized
Does this sound like you? • It’s 7:45 am and you’re running around the house trying to find your science notebook. You should be at school in 5 minutes. Your mom, again, tells you to be more organized. You roll your eyes, but inside, you’re guilty.
7 Tips to help you be more organized • Tip# 1: Make a List • Write down what you need to put in your backpack each day. • While at school, write down what you have to do when you get home. • At home, check off your list the things that you got done.
Tip #2: Clean • Clean out your backpack frequently. • Clean out your folders- throw away old papers. • Clean your room- put things in their place.
Tip #3: Be ready • Every morning if you get to school early, take out the materials that you’ll need for your first class instead of “goofing off”. Start the day organized.
Tip #4: Listen Carefully • Listen to what your teachers are saying. • Pay attention to things they say are important for you to know. • Try your best to listen!
Tip #5: Manage time wisely • Don’t procrastinate. Get things done ahead of time. • Don’t waste time when you get home from school. • Use your time productively. • This will allow you to have free time before you go to bed.
Tip #6: Set goals • Motivate yourself to do well in school. • Work towards A’s and B’s. Tell yourself you won’t get anything below a B. • Write your goals down and hang them up on the wall. • Don’t make your goals impossible to reach.
Tip #7: Keep track of your classes each day • Check your grades on Pinnacle each day. • Keep your schedule with you each day. • Use your planner to write down your homework in each of your classes. • Write down what materials you need for each of your classes.
Don’t forget… • Have fun! • These are good times in your life. Keep a good attitude and talk with your friends, teaches, and counselors if something is bothering you.
