Sonocent is being used in schools to support students who struggle with traditional teaching methods, which are heavily based on text information. • What are the issues surrounding literacy? • Lack of confidence when reading aloud • Reluctance to write • Pupils with speech and language needs • Pupils making slow progress with reading

  3. So how can Sonocent Software help to overcome problems with literacy? • Engage pupils in more audio based activities. • Use speaking and listening activities to boost the confidence of reluctant readers and writers. • Fire pupils’ enthusiasm for reading and writing. • Give pupils time to develop and engage with ideas before putting pen to paper.

  4. Using Sonocent software, teachers can: • Track the progress of pupils, creating a tangible record of targets met • Encourage students to engage in self assessment • Create useful teaching resources from videos and online material • Using Sonocent software, pupils can: • Practice reading aloud, then listen back and mark up areas for improvement. • Build confidence through speaking and listening activities • Set self-motivated targets and assess their own progress as they work towards these • Working with ideas verbally until content, then progress to writing.
