On forest floor; on dead trees • Look for: • Compound leaf of 3 pointed leaflets; outer two may each look like a mitten • Long stalk to the middle leaf • Leave edges may be smooth or toothed; seldom lobed • May see small whitish green berries on main stem • Hairy stem is common (“If it’s hairy, it’s scary!”) Reddish in the spring Green = Poison Ivy In grass; see the berries? Green in summer Various shades of yellow, orange or red in the fall Climbing trees; note “hairs” on vines!
