  12. MODEOF INTERNAL ASSESSMENT • Weekly Lesson Report is used to monitor the student’s academic progress. • Progress Tests are given to students at about 10 weeks intervals. • Internal Year-end Examinations is to help students in their preparation for the main external exam. • Student Reports are issued every 3 months to inform parents/guardians of their students’ progress and to recommend improvement actions.

  13. Formal Assessment • Formal assessment is intended to be a summative indicator of students’ achievement. It is carried out at the end of a period of study, e.g. at the end of a course. • Formal assessment helps teachers to make decisions on placement of students.

  14. Informal Assessment • Informal assessment is an ongoing, formative process. It is intended to help students in their development rather than measure their achievements or rank them. Therefore, informal assessment should not replicate formal assessment.
