MECHANICAL FORMS ‘CHOOSE’ I.S SHEET: Choose 8 out of 12 to complete. Review in class every other week. • OBSERVE • Produce three detailed line drawings of one of the following: Tap, Vacuum cleaner, Hand Tools (pliers, hammer, etc…) – draw different views. • RECORD • Using a camera (or phone) , take 10 different photos of stairs, steps and ladders. RESEARCH & RESPOND Draw 4 sections from the work of Eduardo Paolozzi on an A3 sheet. Join up each study. Draw over these with pen (outline everything). • RESEARCH & RESPOND • Tony Cragg • Find pictures of the work (at least 5). • Annotate these pictures – write about materials used, influences of artists, how work relates to mechanical structures, etc… • Draw, collage, extend, recreate, etc… a section of one of these works. COLLECT + MAKE Cut out pictures of modern technology from catalogues and magazines and collage over a full A4 page. COLLECT + MAKE Collect: screws, nuts, bolts, cogs, springs, coins, wire, old computer components, old toy parts, old keys, padlocks, junk, etc. Use glue, blue-tack, hot glue guns, electrical tape, etc… to create a unique new structure. DO NOT RANDOMLY TAKE APART ELECTRICAL GOODS-ASK FOR ADVICE FIRST! • OBSERVE • Produce one detailed line drawing of a power tool (Drill, jigsaw, planer). • RECORD • Using a camera (or phone) take 10 photos of buildings, bridges, fences, etc… • OBSERVE • Using a viewfinder, produce 12 close-up sections of different man-made structures around your home (e.g. cheese grater, stereo, car, etc…) • RECORD • Using a camera (or phone) take 10 photos of close-ups of parts of a bike, motorbike &/or car. • RESEARCH & RESPOND • Anthony Caro • Find pictures of the work (at least 5). • Annotate these pictures – write about materials used, influences of artists, how work relates to mechanical structures, etc… • Draw, collage, extend, recreate, etc… a section of one of these works. (gamepads, computer mice, remote controls, USB sticks, head-phones, etc…) 2.Arrange them together. 3.Take photos of your still life. 4.PUT EVERYTHING BACK! DO NOT FORGET TO ASK PERMISSION FIRST!
