The vision • Create a dynamic and vibrant UK Alumni Association, that will act as an effective role model for other HU Friends around the world • Promote and facilitate lifelong links between the University and its UK alumni community • The Alumni Association will provide a forum for alumni to maintain and reconnect their links with each other
Targets • Establish a dynamic programme and services to maintain and attract existing and new alumni through a series of social and intellectual programmes • Develop a stable organisational structure, backed by strong functioning committees • Form partnership with other HU alumni around the world • Brand the Alumni Association as an attractive networking organisation in the UK through the media, internet and word-of-mouth

The Purpose of the Steering committee: • Create a committed and dedicated team to help establish the HU Alumni Association in the UK • Take a pro-active role in alumni recruitment, event organisation, and in creating alumni benefits • Meet 4-5 times a year to provide a sounding board for Alumni development
Budget • Staff (1-2 members): £25,000 • Marketing and events: £30,000 • Web materials: £ 4,000 • Travel (in UK and to HU): £ 1,000 • Total: £60,000
Update: first year • Built Strategy plan for the next 5 years. • Inaugural event at the Israeli ambassador house: 130 guests • Established 650 correct e-mails. • Build a steering committee with sub committees • Media & PR: Small article at ALONDON (Israeli magazine), ZF, IBF and RJ publish about us to their members, newspapers in our inaugural event. Added 70 new names in the last year • Alumni website evaluation • Established relations with HU Alumni in Israel, Canada and Australia. Also met HBS and LBS alumni directors
Next Steps and Events: • Extend the database to 1,000 until the end of 2008 • Sign up 200 members at £25 per year by 2009 and 300 by 2010 • Continue the development of the independent website within the BFHU web site • Create a programme of events throughout the year – dedicated for Alumni • Promote Alumni success stories to be published in the media, alumni e-newspaper and on the web. • Raise the awareness of the HU Alumni Association in the UK • Look for more Alumni benefits in the UK • Continue the connection with our colleagues in Europe and Canada with the aim of organising an HU Reunion in 2010.
