  8. Facts Fact on Rousseau: His nickname was Le Douanier which means “the Customs Officer”. Fact on Seurat: If you look very closely at Seurat’s paintings, you will see dots. Fact on Cezanne: You can tell he was the artist of a painting if the title is Still Life with… Fact on Van Gogh: He shot himself in the stomach and caused suicide.
