Our Focus is: CMEC (SWOT Analysis) Forces Weaknesses • Powerful and competent team is in place and has a basic financial capacity to act; • Strong growth of the savings and available micro-credit funds, ca. 5.000.000 F CFA, i.e. 7.621 Euro; • Statuses, the Rule of Procedures, the Norms and Operational Standards are in place and applicable; • Intensive daily monitoring and control of technical and financial operations is assured • Absence of a legal approval, still under development; • Weak rate of penetration of this rural area; • Costs of the buildings and wages are high compared to the current budget of CMEC; • Didactic and office automation materials are missing; • Direct access to available supportive funds; Threats Opportunities • Favourable economical situation offerd in the area; • Fewer competitors, even a total absence of competition in certain localities of the area of action: the only known competitor is COOPEC; • Potential of diversification of rural production; • Potential to create jobs for rural women • Regional diaspora active in Europe (e.g. Adom) • COOPEC (main competitor); • Policy of Micro-Credits in the area; • Dependence on the cereal cultures; • Dependence on local climatic conditions; • Political instability: national, regional and local; • Geographical and professional mobility of the civil servants, current members of CMEC
