Function of Climax • Helps readers understand the significance of the rising action earlier to the point in the plot where the conflict reaches its peak. • Makes readers mentally prepared for resolution of the conflict. • Is important to plot structure of a story. • Is used as a stylistic device or a figure of speech • to render balance and brevity to speech or writing. • Being properly employed, • it qualifies itself as a powerful tool • that can instantly claim the undivided attention of the listeners and readers alike. • Its importance cannot be underestimated.
