The photographer in me. By Zac Barley. Part 1. The photograph was a fall photo that I took during Cross Country at our last meet at Bush Pasture Park. I thought the photograph looked really cool and was like “oh, I’m going to take a picture of that.”

  3. The photograph was a fall photo that I took during Cross Country at our last meet at Bush Pasture Park. I thought the photograph looked really cool and was like “oh, I’m going to take a picture of that.” • This Photo has selective focus because the leaf is in clearer focus than the background, you can tell that the leaf is in sharper focus than the background, it also has lighting because the light is coming from the back, it also has a horizon line even though it is in the middle of the background, and it has grouping but has a lot of leaves, blades of grass, and tree branches. This photo doesn’t have rule of thirds because it is right in the middle, it doesn’t have the right set up for balance, no leading lines, it doesn’t have framing.

  4. I used my iPhone 4 camera. • I would like to improve the picture quality and have it a little sharper and in more focus. • I enlarged the size and since it was on my phone I cropped it there so I didn’t change anything there. • Its mood is light and almost breathtaking because it is majestic.

  5. This was a photo of a bulb off the giving tree at South Salem High School and I was up top and had the flash on with my camera and it came out so good and you can see every little detail of the ornament. • It has lighting because without the flash on the camera it wouldn’t have looked this good, it has grouping because of the little glitter on the bulb and red dots, and it has selective focus because the bulb is in focus and the rest isn’t. It doesn’t have rule of thirds or horizon line, it doesn’t have balance, no leading lines, and no framing.

I used one of the Nikon Canon • Truthfully there is nothing I would have changed besides having the people and the stairs behind the photo. • I cropped, resized it and I think I lowered the brightness and boosted the contrast • It has a joyful feeling in my opinion and expresses the holiday season.

The photograph has a somewhat representation of ‘America is Grand’ kind of feeling. • The photograph has framing which is framed in the ‘O’ of the saxon, it has selective focus because the area in color is the area that is mostly focused on, and it can be argued that it has balance because it could almost be split down the middle. It doesn’t have a horizon line, or rule of thirds, it doesn’t have leading lines, no lighting, and no grouping.

  8. I used the Nikon Canon. • I would like some better lighting for the photograph and if the glare on the windows wasn’t there I would be happier with the photograph. • I cropped it, resized it, and removed color from the photo. • I find it to have a “We are one” or a “We stand alone’’ kind of feel to it.

  9. This is a winter photo that, of one of the locks around the school and 1 of 2 that I took of the locks. This photo was taken by the student parking lot. • It has rule of thirds because the center of focus is in the bottom right, it has lighting because it was foggy which created more light around the shot which made it interesting, it has grouping because the chain links in the fence, it has leading lines because most of the lines in the fence lead to the lock, and it can be argued that there is selective focus because when you get farther away from the lock the less clear the photo becomes. It doesn’t have a horizon line, balance, or framing.

  10. I used a Nikon Canon. • I could take out the color on the sign on the far right of the screen. • I resized it and cropped it a little but not enough. • It has a dark feel and if you added some sort of caption or story it could be a really emotional piece.

The photo is a picture of the giving tree in South Salem High school and I took it during one of the Photography classes. • This photo has lighting because I used the flash, It has rule of thirds because the bulb is in the bottom right, it also has selective focus because the bulb is in focus and the background isn’t. and there is grouping because there are branches and all the light bulbs. It doesn’t have framing or a horizon line, it also doesn’t have leading lines as well.

I used the Nikon Canon. • I probably could have had the camera a little farther back. • I cropped the photo, resized it, and changed the brightness and contrast. • This photo captured the mood of the Christmas season and if you added a caption for how the lights and the bulb represent something else, it could change the photos meaning.

  13. Part 2 • Well I guess the photos say I have a good eye and that I see a lot of contrast and good colors.

I like to take pictures that are a different and colorful, that with a caption can have a big meaning and change the regular mood or meaning of the photo before. • These are my two favorite photos that I have taken this semester because I really like the difference and you can change the meaning or mood with a caption.

  15. It’s not that I dislike taking portraits but I feel that I’m better at taking pictures that are abstract or of things in nature.
