Picture 1 This picture shows the aspect This photo was taken at South, in the lower level near the tennis courts, and softball fields. This photo follows the rule of thirds, selective focus, and leading lines. The fence from the tennis court are the leading lines, the selective focus in the picture is the fence, and the background being blurred brings out the fence. The spider web in the right hand corner follows the rule of thirds. For this picture I used the FugiFilm FinePix S1000 camera. In this picture, the thing I would change is the background that is further back. Not the tennis court, but the softball field. I think that it’s too bright, and doesn’t really fit to this picture. In Photoshop, I cropped this picture slightly, and brightened it to bring out the lighting off of the fence. The mood for this picture is spring time. It’s very bright and the color of the tennis court is really brought out. This picture doesn’t really say anything about me personally, I just thought that the fence would make this a neat picture.
Picture 2 This photo was taken on the side of the Howard street building near the football field. This picture follows the rule of thirds, with the flower being located in the tic tac toe board. This picture also follows the lines of selective focus. I would also consider this picture grouping because there are several flowers in the shot. For this picture I used the FujiFilm FinePix JV Camera If I were to retake this picture I would focus more on the inside of the flower, getting more of a unique shot. In Photoshop I cropped this picture, adjusted the contrast and brightness, and I believe that was it. I think the mood for this picture was to set up a spring like atmosphere. The flower is showing that spring is almost here and the background really adds to that aspect. I think that this picture shows that I enjoy small, simple, pretty aspects of nature.
Picture 3 This picture was taken on the side of Howard street, next to the football field. This picture follows the composition of lighting, with the sun coming off of the leaves, brightening it up For this picture I used the FujiFilm FinePix JV camera. To improve this picture I would take it from a lower angle, almost looking up to it. I think that taking this picture from a different angle would bring a new aspect to the picture. On this picture I made it brighter using Photoshop. I also used one of the affects to sharpen the picture to make it pop out more. The mood of this picture is a bright spring like picture. I like how the two colors kind of contrast each other with the shadows in the back. Again this shows that I like to take the simple pictures of nature.
Picture 4 This picture was taken downtown Salem. I think that the Christmas lights, and the head lights of the cars accent the picture, and make it complete, using lighting composition. For this picture I used my iPhone 4. In this picture I would change the foreground of the picture. It’s the covering of the sidewalk, and kind of takes away from this picture. Using Photoshop I blurred the foreground to have the main focus the street. The mood for this picture would be a night in downtown Salem. Nothing is really going on, but it’s still simple and in my opinion “small city like” I think that this picture says that I as the photographer enjoy the simple things such as light, and shows where I’m from. These are the pictures I like to take. The ones that actually tell a story.
Picture 5 • This is my favorite picture I have taken this semester. I like how the fence is very clear, and the background is blurred. • For this picture I used the FujiFilm FinePix JV camera. • In this picture, I used the selective focus composition. • I like that the sun isn’t really on the main focus of my picture (the fence) but that it’s in the background lighting up the field. • In Photoshop I cropped in picture, and messed with the brightness/ contrast. • I like the simple things in photography. That’s why this picture is one of my favorites. A fence is so simple, and when putting it into focus, you can create your own story. For instance, this particular fence is surrounding the football field, and you can see that the fence has some nics on it. But it’s just telling a story.
