  2. About Mali Mali is named after empire Mali located in modern day Guinea. Its official name is Republic of Mali. The founder of Mali is Sundjala a magician.

  3. Religion and Language Religion: Mostly Muslim (90%) Christian (1%) and Indigenous beliefs: (9%). Language: French (official languages), Bambara 80%, numerous African languages.  Church

  4. Location and Capital Location: West Africa. Borders: Algeria to the Northeast, Niger to the South East, Burkina Faso to the South, Cite Diovoire to the South, Guinea to the Southwest, Maritaina to the West. Capital: Bamako

  11. Clothing Women: skirts, long dresses, and t-shirt’s. Men: Loose pants and t-shirts. Shorts are considered as not being decent so they are avoided by adults. They also dress for warm weather conditions, being so close to the Sahara Desert.
