Role of people • Mountain gorillas are killed for many different reasons: • their meat • to steal the babies • sell the parts as souvenirs • killed for heads and hands (hands used as ashtrays) • Some efforts by people to save mountain gorillas: • Mountain Gorilla Project in Rwanda and other groups formed to save the mountain gorilla • International Gorilla Conservation Program set up to save few remaining gorillas
