  2. Meaning Of Barack • Barack means one blessed by god in Swahili.

  3. Early years Born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii to a African father and a from Kansas mother. Mom and Dad separated for a long time then finally divorced . Raised by a single mother and his grandparents.

  4. Continued………….. • Barack has a half-sister named Maya, who still lives in Hawaii. • Barack Obama inspired many people but Barack had an inspiration too.His inspiration was his dad.

  5. Education • He went to a small college in Los Angeles for two years. • In 1983 he transferred to Columbia University and earned his bachelors degree • After working as a community organizer In 1991, Barack went to Harvard Law School. He graduated first in his class and was the first African American President of the Harvard Review.

  6. Continued………….. • Obama got his degree with the help of his scholarships in international relations at Occidental college. • On June 2, 2007 the University of Massachusetts Boston awarded Obama an honorary degree for advancing and protecting the interests of the less fortunate.

  7. Family • Barack’s Dad was from a small village in Kenya, Mom is from Hawaii • In 1995 both of Barack’s parents died. • Married Michelle Obama, has two girls • Also Barack is an 11th cousin to president George Bush.
