A curtain walling can serve many purposes including aesthetics, sun guard or acoustics. If a glass curtain is used, the glass can either be transparent or tinted. Generally, aluminium framing is used to mount the glass curtain. This glass should be hardened as it needs to withstand natural forces like the sun, heavy rain, storm, wind or snow. Although glass curtain walling is more common for framed buildings, we can see it on domestic buildings as well, mainly as a sun guard for family rooms. Glasscurtain walls are often used on long windows as well. These are generally the staircase windows or windows. Instead of using blinds or curtains on the inside of the room, the glass is used on the outside of the room. In domestic buildings the frames for holding the curtain walls are placed at least eight inches away from the walls. The main window should opening shutters either sliding dining room have the or top hung as the window doesn't have the space to open the shutters. The shutter of the main windows should open at least six inches to allow the fresh air to come in. Before fixing the glass curtain, the width and length of the area are measured. After the space is measured, aluminium framing is cut and assembled on the ground, before fixing it to the wall. Then the glass is cut to the measure of the frame and attached into the frame. The glass is attached to the frame using rubber lining. This rubber lining is attached to the the
frame before attaching the glass to the frame. This makes sure that the glass doesn't fall off or vibrate during heavy wind or rain. The mounting brackets are also fixed on the frame. The brackets are then fixed on the wall, just above the intended area and then secured to the wall using beams and bolts. The frame is then slid into the brackets. Finally, the glass is slid into the rubber lining on the aluminium frames. The whole thing is then screwed tightly and now the curtain wall is ready for use.
