  27. what we know • We will be changed in a moment (or less). Logical deduction; changed then leave. • Dead rise first. • Something you can Watch for it (Rev. 3:3) • 1 Thes 4:13-17 • 1 Cor 15:51-52

  28. 1Thess 4:13-17 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

  30. What we don’t understand

  31. Why do the dead rise first? • Head start- nope those (living) on the south pole of the globe need more time. • ‘dead’ Christians need a head start because they’re not as close to God.

  32. Watch for it? (Rev.3:3) To be prepared is possible but to watch for something that is quicker than the blink of an eye is not possible. Even if you knew the exact time of the rapture you couldn’t see it.

  33. Let’s see if an understanding of a resurrection will help

  34. Rev. 20:4-6 • 4) Not church age, but Trib. Saints resurrected • 5)Trib. Saints part of the 1st resurrection • 6) Church age saints- 2nd death has no power over us, we are part of the 1st resurrection too.

  35. 1Cor. 15:20 • 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. (Past tense) • 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. • 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. • 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. The resurrection of Christ was the start of a 3 phase event called the 1st resurrection-to life.

  36. How do we know it has 3 phases? First fruits (harvest, gleanings) Rev. 20 Trib. Saints are part of the 1st resurrection even though it will happen more than 2,000 yrs after the event was started. • Jesus resurrection=1st fruits, • Church= harvest • Trib. Saints = Gleanings

  37. 1st fruits low number • Gleanings low number • Harvest the largest number. The Context of 1Cor. 15 is not rapture but resurrection.

  38. Matthew 27:51-53 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. First fruit(s) Jesus and O.T. saints.

  39. What happened to the Saints that came out of the grave? • Dropped dead? • Lived a second life? • Left with Jesus (after 40days)? Didn’t die again because the bodies had been changed.

  40. 1 Corinthians 15: 35-42 35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

  41. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

Philippians 3:20-21 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: We look 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.   43. Jesus’ resurrection body had no blood and not bound by manmade structures. 1Cor. 15:50 John 20:26

  44. How God works Rev 2:21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

  45. 40 Days= Gods warning period

  46. First time appears in the Bible Genesis 7:4,12,17 4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. 12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. 17 And the flood was forty daysupon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

  47. At the end of 40days Noah sees his new home. Gen 8:6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

  48. Jacob embalmed 40days … then buried in Caanan. Gen 50:3 And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.

  49. 40day to get Gods word (the law) for the people. (Exod 24:18) • 40days with God and Moses face changed. (Exod 34:28) • 12spies after 40days they could have taken the land (they didn’t and got 40yrs tribulation Num 13:25,14:34)

  50. Goliath 40day then Isrl. Freed from their enemy. (1Sam 17:16) • Elijah 40days then he will be ruptured (1Kgs 19:8,16) • After death and hell Jonah resurrected to preach 40days (Jonah 2:2,6,3:4) • First round defeat of the devil after 40days; given a season of respite from the devil. (13, Rev. 20:2)(Luke 4:2) • 40 days to preach after resurrection then raptured out.
