  3. Morocco • Morocco is the westernmost Islamic nation. • Morocco was conquered by the Ottomans. • This followed the decline of the Berbers • It was founded by Turkish pirates. Modern Morocco

  4. Algeria • In 647 A.D. Islam was brought to Algeria. • Many dynasties have ruled, including the Fatimids. • The Ottomans took power from 1518- 1830 • In 1830 the French began colonization Modern Algeria

  5. Tunisia • Islam arrived in the 7th century • Dynasties included Almohadsand Berber kings. • Various European nations colonized Tunisia. Modern Tunisia
