Improvements in Productivity/Assessment Numbers without a negative impact on quality The experience of Wrightington Mobility Centre Forum of Mobility Centres Open Meeting 8th June 2011
Objectives We needed to - • increase our numbers to bring down waiting times and increase our activity • tailor this to the way we work
Available staff • OTs 2 x 0.89 + 1 x 0.78wte = 2.56 wte • 2 x full time ADIs • Me to plug the gaps
Wrightington strongly believes in the value of two person assessments OT ADI
Part time staff Demands of the NHS Annual leave Training/study Sickness Equates to 42/52 weeks of productivity per person Considerations…….
Actions • Decided on what was a reasonable amount of assessments for each OT to do • 1 assessment = 4.75 hours of OT time • Review of the report writing process • Everyone signed up to this pattern of working
Plan A – One ADI available – assessments available up to 17 Driving Assessments Passenger Assessments
Plan B – Two ADIs available – assessments available up to 21 Driving Assessments
Job Done? (If only it was that simple………)
