1. Report of the Working Group I Concept on WIN Global Affiliation & Co-operations Ingeborg Hagenlocher, Se-Moon Park, Cheryl Boggess & Karin Rantamaki WIN Global Policy of Entering Co-operations

2. Purpose: • To establish interfaces and organizational relationships with professional, scientific, research, educational or other appropriate organizations • To make use of existing know-how and not only “piling up“  knowledge management • To assure concerted actions in communication activities WIN Global Policy of Entering Co-operations

3. Benefit for WIN: • To enhance member participation by widening and extending the relationships between appropriate organizations to strengthen the national & international networks and to provide WIN Members with new opportunities to further professional and career growth. WIN Global Policy of Entering Co-operations

4. Benefit for co-operative society: • To build a wider network between professionals (women and men) and experience levels (mentoring) • Improvement / enhancement of competence of participants • To expand views (e.g. look over the fence) …. WIN Global Policy of Entering Co-operations

5. Strategy for a co-operation: • On a national level WINners should establish their own strategy for co-operation • A multinational template will be compiled and provided for WIN-Global member consensus • These strategies can be discussed during the workshop in Canada. 6. Strategy for a co-operation (II) • Develop international strategy / and provided for WIN-Global member consensus • This will be the basis for further activities in seeking for co-operations WIN Global Policy of Entering Co-operations

7. Strategy for a co-operation – what`s most important …. • Don`t seek for co-operations for co- operations sake ! • A co-operation has to be something SPECIAL and it has to be ANIMATED ! • ...and this means activities on all levels ! WIN Global Policy of Entering Co-operations

8. Target Groups for Membership: • Nuclear Societies of the native countries (ANS, SNS, ref. www of ENS); sec. step ENS & IAEA • Health Physics Society HPS or AMA etc. (Nuclear medicine, radiology, radiation protection etc..) • AWIS (Association of Women in Science) • PWANS (Professional Women in the ANS) WIN Global Policy of Entering Co-operations

9. Target Groups for Membership (II) • Pure scientific organisations (research centres – initially where WIN members have links, e.g. ITC) • Engineering Organisations e.g. ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers); SWE (Society of Women Engineers); JSME (Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers), IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) • Joint governmental committee between countries e.g. Korea-France or Korea-USA Joint Committee on Nuclear Energy • Who else ? 10. Actions in Canada: • Define target organizations (best case) • Outline basic relationship and interface agreements e.g. existing ENS MOU would provide template • Develop schedule for committee timeline and WIN Global presentation and recommendation for implementation. • Draft introduction letters to societies e.g. existing ENS MOU would provide template • Draft interface agreement e.g. existing ENS MOU would provide template WIN Global Policy of Entering Co-operations
