  2. Typical Work Day: • When Students come in there is a sketchbook entry on the board which goes in their interactive sketchbooks. They work on this while I do attendance. • I introduce or “recap” major points for the project. • If we recently started, or if we are completing a project I put the requirements on the board. • For example... A Typical Day in Art

  3. 1. Draw a practice drawing in your sketchbook. It should include • a. A focal point (this can be a silhouette like the one you did with the substitute on Friday, or a shape or object that you love, maybe choose your favorite one of your 20 things about you that you drew for the silhouette painting we just finished) • b. It has to have 2 sets of lines going in different directions (Example: horizontal and vertical, or diagonal and vertical) • c. Lines must be about 1 inch wide (if they are too close it will be a lot of extra work, if they are too far then you won’t be able to show value) • 2. Choose a set of complementary colors • 3. In one set of lines show your favorite of the colors getting darker by adding a tiny bit of black to each line, in the other set of lines show that same color getting lighter by using white to make the color lighter and lighter. • 4. Your focal point will be the complementary color. It should show different tints and shades of the color Requirements for our most recent project (value/emphasis)
