  1. When we last left our story… And the people of Europe looked to one person to unify them under a nation or nation state. Europe was going through a rebirth or RENAISSANCE Those people were the monarchs, or kings and queens.

  2. So, how does a person become a monarch or king?

  3. Step One: The poor peasants pay you big $ to use the land to grow their food…and you cash in!!!! And how you do that is by owning the land… You have to be rich…

  4. Step Two: All the nobles/rich people get together and “kinda choose” the best “family/guy” to be king

  5. Step Three: The current king HAS TO HAVE A SON to pass the crown or kingdom on to…or his “line” ends, and you go back to step 2. (which could result in a civil war)

  6. So when you are king ya gain the respect of the people around you because, you have abilities and powers far above everybody… almost God-like...

  7. Then, we should do everything the king asks or desires…because who wants to upset God or God’s main dude on earth. Listen to the king..no matter what…. OK? Wait… If the dude shows God-like ability, he probably is God or has a direct line to God… ABSOLUTLEY!!!

  8. The DIVINE RIGHTtheory was the belief that the power of the monarch was derived from God and the monarch only answered to God for his actions.

  9. Just make sure you remember that an ABSOLUTE MONARCH has control over every aspect of a nation or nation state. The economy or the country’s money The creation and enforcement of the country’s laws…or political doings. And the military as well…

  10. Were you aware that there are some good aspects about an ABSOLUTE MONARCH? 1. He or she can unify a people. 3. Mobilize the armed forces quickly to defend the country. 2. Bring stability to a nation or region.

  11. Were you aware that there are some negatives of having an ABSOLUTE MONARCH for a ruler? 1. There is no “check” on the kings power…they can do whatever they want….TO CENTRALIZE THEIR POWER!!! CATHOLIC GUY 3. Whatever religion the king practices…is the official religion of the country…beware if you are not that religion. 2. They can send the military where ever they want, when ever they want, and for how long they want. Protestant Guy
