  5. Steps for Creating an Advisory Board • Determine and communicate objective • Choose members (aim high!!) • Set expectations • Seek input • Respect contributions • Communicate

State of the Department • Student enrollment has doubled every 4 years since 2000 (still growing!) • Currently ~300 students (+ 60 in 2 yrs) • 4 Majors • ~10% of day UIndy undergraduate enrollment • *2% of FTF (*total FTF for 2008-09) • Ratio KINS students to FT Faculty 52:1 (university 12:1) • Majority of KINS courses taught by adjunct/part-time faculty
