WHY DOES PUGET CREEK NEED OUR HELP? • Puget Creek is in urban environment. • Pollution from urban runoff. • Water quality needs protected (vegetation). • The Puget Creek watershed is one of only three salmon-bearing streams within the Tacoma city limits. • Restoration of the Puget Creek area started in 1995 and in 2000 Puget Creek Restoration Society (PCRS) was founded. • PCRS has more than 3000 members and they do more than 7640 hours of work every year.

  3. Students removing an invasive species – English ivy. • Originally introduced as a garden plant. • English ivy chokes out other native vegetation and limits the types of wildlife that can live in the area.
