Barry Bright's Block Work By: Shawn Kamrud
One day, Steve decided that he wants to build his own house. Steve needs to find someone who will lay the foundation for him.
So Steve calls Barry Bright's Block Work. Steve and Barry talked about what needed to be done.
Barry shows up to the part of land where Steve wants to build his house. Barry starts to get the border lines of the house using the transit.
After Barry gets his lines set, he calls in for a backhoe. A huge roaring backhoe comes and digs out the foundation.
After the backhoe digs up the basement, Barry has to set the forms for the footer. Barry has a concrete truck come and pour the footer when Jim and Tim show up for work.
When the footer dries, Tim starts to mix mortar with a mortar mixer. As Tim is mixing Jim starts to move the block to the area where they are needed.
As Barry and Jim start to lay up the leads, Barry notices Jim’s lead is wrong. Barry confronts Jim, and Jim walks off the job as Barry hears the “clang” of Jim’s tools hit the ground.
To fix Jim’s mistake, Tim will have use a mason saw to cut block to fit into the wall. As Steve hears the “buzz” of the saw, he comes over to see what is happening.
Steve asks Barry, “Why are you cutting the block that way?” Barry says, “Don’t worry. The wall will be as strong as an ox.” Steve got back into his car. Barry starts to lay the block.
Barry and Tim work together as a team, and they got the foundation finished. Steve is impressed with their work. Suddenly, Jim appears to tell Barry he is sorry, and Barry forgives him.
