  2. Last Week We…. • Drew place value charts • Used > < and = to compare numbers • But only did ONE problem using a number line. So…Can you guess what we’re doing today? Swinging in trees? We’re going to practice comparing numbers using a number line!

  3. What is a number line? A number line is a line with numbers on it. Simple Right? Well let’s try it out!

  4. Here we go… + < = 2 6 10 8 1 + 3 4 > That’s for 1st graders so we’ve got to make it harder.

  5. Draw this number line 100,000 175,000 150,000 125,000 200,000 225,000 250,000 275,000 Plot the following numbers on your number line then put them in order from least to greatest. • 100,000 • 201,000 • 275,000 • 160,000 • 245,000

  6. Now let’s do some laundry! Each of you has a T-shirt with a number on it. Our mission is to hand the clothes on the clothes line where they belong. But first we need to come up with a plan that makes our laundry duty easier. What should we do? Think about what you would do Pair up with a person who has the same color shirt as yours Share your thoughts
