  2. 中国国际经济技术交流中心 China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges What is CICETE? • Directly under the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), the China international Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (CICETE) was founded on March 12,1983 with the approval of the State Council.

  3. 中国国际经济技术交流中心 China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges CICETE’s Mandate • CICETE's main mandate delegated by MOFCOM is to coordinate, on behalf of the Ministry, the cooperation between China and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and to undertake the execution of the assisted programs and projects. The main objectives are to intensify personnel exchanges, economic and technical co-operation between China and other countries, promote the development of new and advanced technology, so as to support China's economic reforms and modernization.

  4. 中国国际经济技术交流中心 China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges CICETE’s cooperation with other agencies: • In addition, CICETE has also been cooperating actively with International Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) through its subsidiary body China Association for Non-Governmental Organization Cooperation (CANGO), Beijing Association of UN Volunteers (UNV) and China Asian-Pacific Association for Promoting Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAPATEC), giving strong backing to the social and economic development of this country.

  5. 中国国际经济技术交流中心 China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges Cooperation between CICETE and UNHCR • The cooperation between CICETE and UNHCR started at December, 2004. UNHCR is an essential procurement agency of UN system. Invited by CICETE, UNHCR Regional Supply Office was set up in Beijing. The office locates in CICETE. CICETE cooperates with UNHCR in sourcing in different areas of China as well as offering office and other facilities.

  6. 中国国际经济技术交流中心 China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges Cooperation between CICETE and UNHCR • Under the cooperation between CICETE and local government, UNHCR established three Procurement Information Center in Yiwu, Wuhan and Beijing. The main objective of Procurement Information Center is to provide supports to UNHCR’s sourcing activities in China. Procurement Information Center provide information to suppliers regarding the samples of UNHCR commodities which are exposed at the PIC
