  3. “So, what are we doing? “ You will create a circular zentangle using black sharpies on paper and later add color with marker. Using Line, one of the elements of design, you will create many different patterns together. This will create a work of art that is truly original and abstract.

  4. Creating the Project: First we use a compass to create the larger circle for our project. Then the circle with be cut out and the patterning begins! When your entire circle is filled with lines and patterns, we will use a smaller circle template to place our “color lens” within your zentangle. When everything is finished we will matte the piece on black paper for a final touch.

  7. Indian Henna The art of henna has been apart of the Indian culture for centuries. Henna is applied during celebrations such as weddings and religious ceremonies. Each design is symbolic and connected to festival being celebrated. Henna is actually a type of plant which produces a heavy dye. This is then used on hair, fingernails, leather, silk, and wool.

  9. Maori Tattoos Maori are the native people of New Zealand. They are a very ethnically diverse group. “Ta Moko”- scarring and marking the skin to reflect the genealogy of the wearer. They are messages that can be read by other tribal members. Tell the background and story of the wearer. Getting a moko on the face is the ultimate statement of one’s identity as a Maori. Women will get a moko usually on the chin, forehead, upper lip, nostrils, and throat.
