  1. Vending Machine Design By Hung Lac Tamara Corbett Keith Johnson Note: Some slides of this file contain animation. Therefore, the contents in those slides are overlapping. It is easier to view if you run it as a slide show.

  2. Researching and Observation The Space • The vending machine was found at North Ave apartment. • It is located in a narrow hallway leading towards the study lounge and laundry room. Interaction • It was not confusing/bad to use. • The only problem I encountered was that the price did not match up. The machine says “$3.50” when I swipe my Buzzcard, but the drink actually costs only “$1.50”

  3. Observation • I saw two people interacting with the machine. They both came from the study lounge. They seem to have no problem with operating the machine and receiving their drink. Procedure • Walking up the machine • Looking inside and making choice • Getting money out for the choice that you make • Putting in the money • Putting in the combination for the choice you make • Waiting for the machine to get your choice • Take your choice from the machine

  4. Possibility for errors • Confusing combination for the item • Mismatched prices for the item • Machine not giving the item after money was received • Machine not giving back money after refusing to give away the item • Machine not taking any form of money (cash, credit, debit) Alternatives to using the machine • Go to store and buy your own drinks • Give up on soda • Make your own drinks
