Love is not only having positive feelings.
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.” John 15: 9-10
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:12
Jesus loves with a self –sacrificial love
How do we translate this love into practical terms?
Who is your neighbor? Can you choose whom to love?
Lk 10:29b-27: The Good Samaritan. The Jews hated the Samaritans, who had inter-married among the gentiles. Thus it was remarkable for this Samaritan to help the Jew who was robbed and beaten.
ALL persons in need of help is our neighbor
Love is not pompous or inflated
Love rejoices with the truth
