LifeSmarts @ 17 –Turn-Key & Versatile Now celebrating its 17th Anniversary, LifeSmarts is an annual competition, open to 6th through 12th graders in every state and U.S. Territory. The curriculum conforms to national academic standards and also offers extracurricular fun. Using game-show dynamics, the program adapts easily to classroom, club, or community organization.

How to Register as a Varsity Coach • Go to http://start.lifesmarts.org/coaches. • Click on "Register as a Coach“ • Fill in the registration form and click "Register." • Receive a coach code – allows you to register one or more teams for the Internet competition. • You can register your team right after you register as a coach. Click on "sign in."

How to Register a Varsity Team • Go to http://start.lifesmarts.org/coaches. • Log in with your first name, last name, and Coach Code Click "Log In." • Click on "Register Team" • Complete the Team Registration form, and click "Submit Team." • Receive a Team Pass Code. • Repeat process to register more teams. • The teams that you registered are now active.
Varsity Student Registration Instructions • Go to http://start.lifesmarts.org/ • Click on “Register Here“ • Select “NY” from drop down menu and click “Go.” • Complete the registration form and click “Register Me.” • Review your information. Click “Go Back” to make corrections or click “Save It.” • “Log in” using username and password and click “Enter.” • Complete 15-question pre-test. Click on “Pre-Test Quiz.” • Click on “Take a Practice Quiz” • Click “Join Competition,” choose team from drop sown menu and enter your team code

Answers to FAQs • There is no registration fee • Coaches can register as many teams as they wish • Team minimum is four students • A student can only play on one online team • Students must complete all three levels of the online competition • Students work independently on each level of the online competition • Your team must have one of the highest composite scores • Composite scores average the scores of the top four players • Coach determines which qualifying students attend the state championship • One team per school/organization can come to nationals • Five students per in-person team
