Protect Children During Crisis Times We have always seen that underprivileged children are most suffered in India and now due to lockdown and measures that have been taken to control the spread of the virus, these communities and children are even more vulnerable than before. The immediate impact is seen on daily wagers who have lost their livelihoods with no money to buy anything which is necessary. They are struggling to provide food to their families – a worse situation where their children are already undernourished, at the risk of malnutrition, and due to this the risk of low immunity and lack of hygiene supplies they are more prone to this disease. At Manav Kartavya, an NGO in Ahmedabad, have jumped into action to serve the children and take care of their hygiene by distributing kits, and rations. They also spread awareness on preventive measures and medical facilities. They are mostly focused on extending help to people by providing those rations, hygiene kits, and spreading awareness. Helping hand to such warriors It is all about going the extra mile to help people. NGO in Ahmedabad has helped a lot of people in surviving in this worse situation. They have been working with the volunteers and teams with the help of partners and supporters, to take action for children at every level.
Migrant workers have been asked to re-register themselves with the PDS system and children for their education system. Extending support to all needy people in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and major affected cities with cash transferred to their accounts. Distributing masks to clinics, hospitals, and other people who cannot buy. Make provisions for water and food. Distributed food kits among villages. Cooked meals were given to low-income families, food grains through communities, or mobile kitchens. 5-10kgs of vegetables including tomatoes, potatoes, cabbage, were distributed among scheduled tribe people in the city. There is a list of old age home in satellite who also needs attention and care from these NGOs. As we have heard that not only children, even old people age above 60 needs to take care of. There are still many who live in vrudhashram or live alone in society. These NGO’s make sure that food and medical is been provided to them too.
