R2E shielding activities • Integration • - all shielding walls = integrated; agreed by LHC integration team • - official approval process to be launched through ICL • Deadlines: • Points 8: 13 April • Point 1: 20 April • Point 5: 4 May • - simplified models still needed afterwards for implementation in CATIA models • Orders • all blocks are now ordered • Point 1 RBs special shape ‘frites’: 18th/19th April technical reception in Austria of the first 2 blocks by M. Lazzaroni and C. Saint Jal • pre-series of blocks 4x4 x2, 6x3x3: check by June in Bulgaryby M. Lazzaroni and C. Saint Jal • Logistics • Cleaning and painting of the ‘old’ blocks = finished yesterday • Storage place: blg 157 implementation storage area under progress 1

R2E shielding activities • planning • Blocks delivery • all @ CERN in November 2011 • 4x4x2 & 6x3x3 : all delivered @cern in November 2011; • ‘frites’: all delivered @cern in June 2011 • bricks: order sent yesterday - all delivered @cern end of June 2011 • 2011-2012 Xmas activities goals • Point 1:UJs & RBs, • be ready for Point US85 UJ17/16 - RB 16 UJ13/14 - RB 14 IP1 US85 LHC tunnel Courtesy M. R2E relocation activities • Integration studies • - Point 8: finished • Point 5: see the end of the tunnel; finished by the end of April • Point 1: new proposal under check; need to know the exact position of the area to empty -> CE input. • Point 7: need the ‘Safe room’ study conclusions to go ahead • Approval through ICL- deadlines • Point 8: 20th April; • Point 5: 4th May; • Point 1: 8th June; • Point 7: ? • 2011-2012 Xmas shutdown goals • anticipate possible relocations – list of activities by June • mark on floor all the future equipment locations; • - Point 8: valves positionners(t.b.c), cooling cabinet in UJ87-> UA87; • Point 1: fire detectors; • Point 5: survey GGPSO installation in by-pass 3
