  1. LC1 Adv.Phy Project Names: 1-Hassan Ali (80175) 2-Saeed Obaid(80020) 3-Saud Yousef(80104) 4-Rashed Salem (80099) 12-06

  2. Astronomers: Brahe Kepler Copernicus

  3. Kepler’s I law: The planets orbit the sun in elliptical orbits with the sun at one focus.

  4. Kepler’s II law: • a line running from the sun to the planet sweeps out equal areas of the ellipse in equal times.  This means that the planet speeds up as it approaches the sun and slows down as it departs from it.

  5. Movement of planets based on II law: • The Planet will move faster when its closer to the sun . • The Planet will move slower when its far from the sun.

  6. Kepler’s III law: • The square of the ratio of the periods of 2 planets is proportional to the cube of the ratio of average distance from the sun.

  7. Numerical example based on Kepler’s III law • Moon has a period of 27.3 days and a mean distance of 3.90x105km from the center of Earth, Use Kepler’s laws to find the period of a satellite in orbit 6.70x103km from the center of the Earth.

  8. Newton’s law of gravitation: • The force of a attraction between any 2 masses, m1 and m2 is directly proportional to their product and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. (universal Gravitational constant)

  9. Newton’s law of gravitation to Kepler’s III law:
