Review of the Scheduling Process • HS Electives Preview, March 3rd • Receive recommendations from 8th grade teachers for student placement • Consideration for Advanced Classes • Student will meet individually with counselor to make course selections • Students will register for a minimum of 6.5 credits and a maximum of 7.5 credits
Scheduling Process Continued • Copies of student schedules will be given to students prior to school year. • Schedule changes can be made during the designated times. • Counselors will be available periodically during summer months

Class Rank • Class rank is calculated using 6 credits (courses with the highest grades will be used) • Initial Class Rank is calculated at the conclusion of the sophomore year (4 semesters) • College applications will include rank through the junior year (6 semesters) • A student should carry at least 6.5 credits per year
Attendance Policy • In order for students to be eligible to take tests, submit papers, homework, projects, etc… students must be in attendance a minimum of 85% of the total days a course is scheduled to be in session. • 14 days 1.0 credit classes • 7 days .5 credit courses
Freshman Orientation • Freshman will have the opportunity to attend orientation before school starts • Schedules/Lockers & combinations • Schedule changes/course requests
Academic Intervention Services (AIS) Eligibility • Multiple Measures: 8thGrade State Assessments & iready data • Scoring below the approved passing grade 65 on any Regents exam required for graduation in ELA, Mathematics, Science and/or Social Studies • Recommendations by classroom teacher, counselor, administrator, parent, school staff • Parent Notification occurs every time a student enters and/or exits AIS
